Hey, Everyone. I have an announcement to make! My schedule is changing again, and I am taking on more work and more classes during the week and on Saturdays, which means I'll be here at Dave's (and online) a lot less often than I've been in the past. I'll certainly check in when I can, but I suspect that most of my free time will be spent watering in the garden. I promise to take lots of pictures of my plumerias when they bloom this summer, and I'll post them when I can. I hope everyone has lots and lots of plumie flowers this summer!

Oh Clare we are going to miss your post. Don't work too terribly hard and check in when you can. Good luck, Kim
I will miss you too, Clare. Can't you water and type at the same time???? LOL
Thanks so much, Kim and Nery! LOL, Nery!
LOL, thanks, Brad. No, I'm afraid I have to do these things by myself! I'll check in when I can:-)
Clare_CA:
OK We'll be waiting.
Lovely, Miss! It's great to see you here! I didn't know you are a DG member:-)
miss:
That's a lovely orange -- and the inflor shows you'll be getting a full bouquet.
You say it's just now rooting? How long has it been? And how tall is it?
Hi Clare! Sorry to hear you wont have time to be on the forums to much. :( i really appreciated your help with the passiflora :) ill be sure to post some photos when it blooms.
Flyboyfl, that plant was only rooting a few weeks when it started to bloom its about 15 inches tall with three tips. The tip that’s blooming is 7 inches i would say. its one i bought from barry.ng in Singapore.
Fantastic results!
Hi Miss, thank you so much for the kind words. I'll be around as often as I can, but it won't be as much as I have been in the past. Sometimes I only have a few minutes to check my watched threads, and some days, I won't have access to a computer until late at night, and by then, I'm exhausted! You should definitely post pictures of your passifloras when they bloom, and I'll do the same. I'll still take lots of pictures and post them when I get a free minute or two:-) Your orange plumie is a keeper!
flyboyFL, its not the onely one of that cutting i have rooting... i have a few rooting its just the only one that blooomed while rooting.. but i was happy to see it bloom so fast. :) thats always a good sign.
Clare, i'll post a few photos of the passiflora's i havent been on this site in a while so its like relearning it, almost... and thanks about the orange :)
Beautiful, Brad!
Clare_CA~
Thanks. But you make it sound like I had something special to do with it. All I did was plant it several years ago. My DDW selected it, and now she says she prefers the way it looks, bare.
De gustibus non disputandum est.
Is that Latin? I took four years of Latin in junior high school and have forgotten most of it.
It is striking in all its forms. I really like the landscaping that accents it with the white wall, white rocks, and red bougainvilla. I'll have pictures to show in a few more weeks.
It's unique. Most languages have a special way of saying, "There's no accounting for taste."
We were stuffed Latin in my home town because the High School headmaster had authored a Latin tome.
Waiting to see yours
Brad
Brad, they are beautiful! Your white looks like Common White, but it is lovely. Celadine has more yellow in it with overlapping petals. Here are some good pictures for comparison: http://www.plumeria101.com/master_gallery/celadine.html
Clare_CA~
Thanks. I didn't think it was Celadine, but it does have a lemony scent. But it IS prolific. It's not particularly structurally strong, so pieces break off. I just stick them in the bround, not even waiting for a callus -- and away they go -- and grow. I started with one 12 inch cutting.
Brad, it could be Lemon Drop. Here's a link: http://www.exoticplumeria.com/list2.asp But yours has a faint pink stripe on the back side, and I think Lemon Drop is pure white on the back side. It is still very pretty. I had one sort of like it, but I gave it to my neighbor when she admired it. Here it is below:
Gorgeous, Brad! You are still way ahead of me. I only have one little bloom on one of my rooting Celadine cuttings, but you can bet that I have my nose in it all the time. Tell me what you think of the fragrance of TW.
Clare:
I really don't think it has a fragrance. I've sniffed and sniffed again just now -- and blank. I think that when the mad scientists play with the plants, they sometimes lose the aroma in deference to color.
Hi Brad! That's true. Some plumies have a really strong scent; some plumies have a very faint scent. Plumeria species pudica has no scent at all. TW's colors makes her worth her weight.
Clare:
Be patient and hang in there. Mine is just three years old, from a plant that fit in my car.
For those of you that didn't get to the Florida Colors get-together, a great time was had by all, and everyone went home with plumerias. They had a nice lunch, and Luc demonstrated how to make a plumeria hair barette and how to graft a plumeria. Here is a picture taken by Relda and posted with her permission.
