Crocus lawn

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

I found this lawn in St. John's, Newfoundland today...incredible display of Crocus tomassinianus...must have been growing and self-seeding for years to reach this stage.

I love it! When I visited Hampton Court in England a few years in April they had this too, It was just breathtaking.
Always wanted to try it on my lawn but it needs mowed a long time before the crocus leaves die back:-( -C

In Pasadena, California I saw an entire yard planted to jade plant. It was mowed about 6-inches high. Most unusual ground cover that I have seen.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

That makes me want to buy a few hundred every year until I die! Masses of little bulbs have just blown me away in some displays and pics I've seen this year. Great pic, thanks for sharing.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Wonderful picture.

North East England, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I suppose this is how crocus would be in the wild. A lovely way to grow them on masse - very effective.

Garberville, CA(Zone 9a)

That picture is amazing! I began planting crocus in my parents' back yard just before I moved. Now, every spring three little patches of crocus bloom in the grass. Oh, well. I don't think it will ever look like that!
