H. macrophylla

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

This flower umbrel was at the end of a vine that had grown to be about 6 ft. long, so the foliage you see doesn't belong
to this plant. I tried to take the macrophylla down so I could get the flower with the foliage but the vine had grown
through the wire hangers on two other plants. I guess it will have to stay where it is until I cut the vine back for rooting.

Very pretty, does it have a scent?

I had thought that H. macrophylla had different shaped flowers, thanks for setting me straight!

Very cool Patricia! Don't you love zone 9?

Yes, zone 9 is pretty good, I just wish I didn't get frost here in the winter . It really limits my love for growing tropical plants in my garden.

Yes, it has a very delicate soft perfume smell to me.

Raven, I got mine from Ted Green a couple years ago so it could be mislabeled. I started doing a search for a picture of the flower and I found one on a Swedish site , and it doesn't look like mine.

If anyone knows which one this is let me know.
