This bullish amphibian moved in a few weeks ago. The bottom part of the waterfall is one of his favorite spots to sun.
King of the Pond!
This shot shows his markings really well. I read they eat fish (minnows). Hope he does not eat my new goldfish.
He sure is a big guy! How cool! Wish I could have bullfrogs up here, but they are not native here and where populations have been introduced, they are threatening our native frog populations. They do eat other frogs and fish. Hope your goldfish are big or have plenty of places to hide! Bullfrogs are truly kings of the pond! Here's a photo of one of our little tree frogs. He's pretty lonely right now, but as soon as the tadpoles get bigger, he'll have company. He's just waiting for the pond to get finished.
Maybe your big guy will attract a mate! Then the singing will be tremendous!
