I desperately need some serious advice!!! I have a 5' x 9' EMPTY section - bordered by house, and two (2) 6' masonry wall. It only gets morning sun. This section is on the eastern side of house facing west. Since it sits back a few front door, I do not want any shrub/tree that attracts bees or birds. The shrub/tree will be planted in a 20" x 20" pot. THANK YOU!
What To Plant (NW Las Vegas, NV)
Sounds like you are needing some foliage plants. Sun Coleus are very attractive, especially if you keep the ground moist. They are annual if you get frost at all and I think LV is known to have that once in a while. A sheet would probably protect them. Other things you could plant would be Hosta, but if it is really hot there, they may burn. I don't do a lot of foliage plants, so I have few answers for you. Maybe a check of the foliage forum would help you out.
