If you've heard of Blanchard you must live nearby. haha Has anyone started uncovering their garden and planting seeds or perennials just because we had a week of good weather? Well I DID some cleaning and uncovering. I also planted some special poppies. Being the stubborn woman I am.... I'll be darned if I'm gonna go cover everything back up! What do ya think? Am I going to be in trouble for my bull-headdedness? Oh, BTW this is my first visit to the Michigan forum. Since I live here, I'll STAY here. Hope to meet a lot of new people. ok notmartha...... I FINALLY made it. Aren't you proud of me? haha

Welcome Jacklynn,

Jacklynn, I covered my Delphiniums and a few dayliles in the front. I covered my Lupine in the back too.. They looked pretty bad after the first frost, so I will be keeping them sheltered at least through the weekend. They are all only a year or so old.
Maybe I should sow a few poppies this weekend too.
I know where Blanchard is....my daughter used to live there! We have had snow, here, and the plants look very perky that are up, so I'm not too worried about them. Right now, I'm planting things in flats to get them started a little sooner. Last year I winter sowed about 200 kinds of seeds. It was my first year of gardening in our new home with 10 acres and I needed to do something, not so costly, to start up some gardens. It worked well. About 97% success.
