Peacock Orchid bulbs Acidanthera Murielae Gladiolus
I have a bunch of these (my eyes were bigger than my flowerbed). The ones that I put in about 3 weeks ago are starting to push up. I know in my zone, I can put them in until at least May, so there is still time to get them in. They are shown to be hardy in zones 8-11, but will work in other zones if lifted.
This is my first year with these bulbs, but it appears that every one that I planted is sprouting, so I believe they will be very successful.
I'm new to this, so I am not sure what I want, so please let me know what you have to trade. I would prefer things that will survive in the oppressive heat that we have here, but other than that, I am open.
Thanks,
Sheila

Hi. What type of Purple Iris do you have? Some work well here and others not so well. Along with the heat, we also have the 100% humidity.
As I said, I am new to this. For the Sedum, is it a plant, cutting, seeds, etc.? I assume the iris is a rhizome with the foliage cut back? How many bulbs would you like for each? The bulbs are not huge (although they are not babies and are full size for this type of plant), so I would be willing to put together several for each plant, etc.?
Thanks,
Sheila
Sheila,
Do you want a trade or would you take a SASE for the glads? I love glads!
I am new at DG and just started my garden in this house a year ago, so don't have a whole lot. I do have some delph. plants, a couple Rose of Sharon plants grown from seeds (tho only have about 5-6 leaves on it), and am growing the standard annual and perennial plants from seeds too in my work greenhouse. I have lots of generic glads. bublets tho.
Let me know what your deal is.
Thanks, Carol
I honestly don't know what type of iris it is. I thinned it out from someone's yard last month and have a bunch left over. These will probably not bloom for you this year, as they are blooming right now. They would probably work out well for you since they flower before it gets really hot. I have at least 15 fans.
The sedum is a plant, the babies are popping there heads out right now. If you want these, I'll do an even trade for them. Yours are so pretty! PM me to let me know how many you have to trade, and how many of mine you want.
Thanks!
I asked a couple of times in one of the forums about acidanthera aka peacock orchid. planted about 100 last year in full sun. Grew beautifully but gave only one little flower. The smell as absolutely divine, that is why I planted so many. They started to grow again and I'm hoping this 2nd year they will put out the flowers. Truly guys, this is a wonderful plant, but it might not bloom for you this year. Squirrels didn't seem to bother it and I have lots of those devils!
I have orange crocosmia bulbs I would love to trade for some. The are listed in the plant files.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
