Look who posed this morning

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

This guy floated in while I was moving some plants off the deck. He seemed intent on settling on the yesterday, today and tomorrow plant that I was moving off the deck. I thought he was right ...time for a break. He was very accommodating while being photographed.

Your visitor is a giant swallowtail--great pic -- They host on trees in the citrus family.

Here is a Tiger Swallowtale in my yard--nectaring on a penta--In south florida the only host plant is sweet bay

Cool,
Thanks for the info. I don't see too many Tiger Swallotales thru Houston. Use to see them or simiar species in the North West.
