Good question. I have one rooting in water doing the same thing. Getting root nodules and leaves in water, but above water is shriveling and worked its way to the top of the water.

Looking forward to hearing the answer to this, too.

I have one that is doing that also.. Hasn't put out a single leaf yet and I have unpotted it twice to check the roots.. the first time it had one new root and this last time it had several more new roots so I am hanging in there.

They should take off growing as soon as you can get them outside for summer.

Sometimes cuttings will do this. They will shrivel down to a leaf node and then stop.
If the cutting has roots there's a good chance it will survive and put out a new shoot from the soil or the leaf node where the shriveling stopped.

mine is not shriverling but I have a nice size wood Y cutting in soil for about a month, it has nice roots but no sign of a growth anywhere, it is in my greenhouse so I will leave it untill I can plant it outside.

at this point kareoke, I would say healthy roots are more inportant than leaves.

If ya had leaves but no roots , then I would worry.

The leaves will come.

Scoot, do you have a clue what caused her demise?? I know it wasn't premeditated murder, so what gives, or do you know??
