I am looking for 10-15 fresh seeds of this for my "corporate" container gardening where I work. Does anyone have any to spare? I have many seeds for trade including Only The Lonely Nicotiana, Double Purple Columbine, Mixed Daylily, Tall Purple Amaranth, Love Lies Bleeding Amaranth, Cobea, Tithonia, and many others. Let me know what you're looking for in annuals and I probably have it if it can grow in zone 5.
Thanks!
Sandy
Wanted & Needed: Cerinthe Major Purple
I've tried to start seeds from that EVERY year
This year I gave up
Sandi... I have not heard of Cerenthe major purple... I have Cerenthe major purpurescens. Mine is the Kiwi Blue. It has almosta light turquise leaf with raised white spots on it. Had to double check and make sure it wasn't a virus til I found out thats how it grows. LOL
This is a link: I hope mine come out looking that good. They're in little 4" pots now.
No extra seeds right now though.
Honeywort, Blue Shrimp Plant, Blue Wax Flower 'Purpurascens' (Cerinthe major)

Crestechick... how you growing them? I take mine put in a soiless starting mix in a small seed tray or you can use an empty syerlized 6 pack tray. I barely cover them with some more mix. Put a couple of little label tags on the corners to hold the baggy up off them , the slide the whole thing in a quart baggy and give 80 degree temps for three days and they usually start popping up then. As soon as they sprout I take them out or they will get leggy. Leave in the 6 pack for about 7 to ten days then transfer into a good well drained, light soil mix.
If you plant them too deep or have to heavy a soil or not warm enough temps they can take months to germinate.
I have a few seeds left Sandy, holler at me.
80 degrees.....well,that could be my problem,I wasn't using bottom heat on them......
Sandy (Seedsower),
My brain lied to me; I found 4 still in the package....
Is your Cobea white? I already have the Mt. Glory Blue, starting.
Maybe you have a few seeds of clitorea ternata double white?

Naturewalker...I'm sorry, but I'll need more than four. Thanks for your kind offer but I'll try and track some down in another forum or maybe through a catalog.
Thanks!
Sandy
Ok,
Just seeing if you wanted that few. Sometimes all you may need is a few. They do make a lot of seeds though, just wondering why they charge so much for only 10 seeds at a time.

let me know if you still need some, mine will be ready soon.
i have never harvested seed b/c it is just so easy to shake the plant around after it's done blooming--I get HEAPS of plants each year and have given them to every neighbor and friend. wow, if I had to go through starlight's process I think I would quit! spoiled CA brat I s'pose...
the seeds must be tiny?
No Sevensisters, the mature seeds are about as big as 4 o'clock seeds.

never grown 4 o'clocks but I will make a point to check this time : )
