I wrecked our beloved '96 Dodge Grand Caravan

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I was going to the church to plant flowers in the raised beds and didn't see a pickup coming from the other direction. I pulled across in front of it and was broadside on the passenger side. If Jack had been in his usual seat(we thought about him going with me but he decided to stay home)he would have surely been killed. Of course the van was loaded with tools, hoses, plants, fertilizer, etc. so it was somewhat of a mess after the accident. Holly came to get me and took me to the ER later in the day. I'm not hurt, just the usual seatbelt bruises. A few tiny glass nicks on my neck and right cheek but I've had cat scratches worse than them. I am just devestated by all the trouble I have caused so many people and at the loss of this van that we so loved. Maybe I loved it too much. A close friend is taking Jack to his eye appointment in Columbia this morning and another close friend is taking me back to the van to get some valuable papers out of the drawer under the passenger side front seat and some other things. Kyle will remove the new radio/CD player for us. I think we would like to get the tires and at least one rim so we can have a real tire for a spare on the next one.

I am not suppose to do lifting, pulling, pushing, etc. for a couple days so I'll just fiddle around potting up the poor little plants that lost their dirt in the accident. I had not only taken what I bought for the church last week but also dug some things from the yard yesterday morning and then stopped at my favoite garden center and bought some plants, fertilizer, etc. We got all the plants, tools, storage tub that wasn't broken, hoses, etc. out of the van yesterday when Holly came to get me. I wasn't leaving those items beind!

GOD bless and keep each of you as he has done for me.
