Datura, Devil's Trumpet 'Evening Fragrance' (Datura inoxia)

Balotesti, Romania(Zone 5a)

So beautiful your datura ! Do you sow it every year !
Mine have popped out from the last year roots and just yesterday has bloomed the first trumpet. I had to put on some sticks to support them after a big storm we had last week.

Ruth,
I have 10-12 bushes of datura and so far they've bloomed 3 of them. The trumpets are so big and beautiful. I am very proud of them !

could this be hung in a basket?? it sounds as if it needs some help standing straight... do you think it would do well??

Weasel, I don't think it would be a good idea ! The plant grows so big and strong, it isn't fit for pots . The flower itself is as big as a pot !

I was comming back from the Smokies a few years ago and stopped at the Cracker Barrel near knoxville. This plant was growing at the side and I got some of the seeds. I have grown these for awhile, but it seems that the original plant that I saw was thicker and more flowers than I have had. I was wondering if maybe pinching the leaves back some would cause it to be thicker and more blooms?

Maybe it wasn't the same plant !I know that it's a poisonus plant which looks the same, but it's thiner and the flowers are smaller. Or, if it's a datura, you have to plant it in full sun.
These are mine 2 days ago !
