Here is a link to a nice hobby greenhouse..I know they also have starter sets which saves some money and give you much of what you need to get started. There are also hoop houses available which cost less I believe. good luck

I got an Enthusiast Greenhouse in February. I heated it with a small electric heater -did not really notice any big jump in heating bill. I love it. It is cute. I got it on ebay for around $725 with free shipping. I thought that seemed like a good deal. Either way, I love it and you will feel the same way when you get yours, I know. Here is a link to some information. Let us know which one you decide. I think Rion makes a good greenhouse also -but so does Farmtek. Decisions, decisions.....

I couldn't tell from thei nfo. Are those walls single paned or double?

Worden, IL(Zone 6a)

I think it is single paned. UV coated, single layer SnapGlas polycarbonate panels.

I would check Harbor Freight... They have a good one for very cheap... Like $329 it is like 6x8 and has corigated plexi panels. Aluminum frame... You could buy 2! & Have money left over for a heater!

We would like to hear your experiences with the Enthusiast greenhouse -- we have been thinking of buying one of these ourselves -- they seem to be one of the best deals in the lower price market right now.

I got my GH in February. I think they are very cute and look nice in the yard -neighbors, you know, blah, blah, blah. I have no complaints about it. It is small, but so is my yard. I will tell you that the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I think they say it will take around 6 hours to put it together. DO NOT believe this. It took DH 2 days of working on it steadily to get it put together. It comes in a gazillion pieces and was a little hard at times to slide the pieces together. Don't tell but DH had to take apart once because he was not following directions as to what piece should go where and in what order -so that did add a little time on to it. But there is no way in this world I think anyone could put that together in 6 hours. It is not double pane, and the plastic is kind of flimsy, but I have had no trouble with it not being sturdy enough. They claim it will withstand 90 mph winds -not so sure about that, but it does fine with the 40-50 mph winds we get sometimes, and it did fine with the snow we got, which was not very much. The stakes that come with it and the base seem to do just fine, and it appears to be sturdy. I used a small electric heater in February, and the temps stayed around 55 in the GH while it was in the 20s outside. I am curious to see how it will do when we get the really cold temps -I want to overwinter some of my plants in there, but with temps that could drop below zero, I am a little hesitant. I really cannot think of any negative things that I have encountered, barring the instruction thing. This is a pic right after he got it put together. He put it together on the patio, and then we carried it out to its location in the middle of the yard. It still had the plastic protection on so it looks cloudy.

AnnaC - I bought the one from HarborFreight - It was on sale at the beginning of April for 299. It is still in the box on the front porch waiting for DH to put in a foundation for it. We opened the box and counted every piece and it is all there. It looks really good for the price. Its 6 x 8 ft. Since we have a store near here, I didn't have to pay freight or anything. Becky

Just took a look at the Harbor Freight GH -- they have the instruction manual on line -- it requires a concrete base with a wood frame bolted into the concrete to anchor it to -- that will add a lot of expense to the project. I would rather have a crushed stone floor in ours.

My DH is only going to put in a concrete footer around the perimeter. I too want gravel or crushed stone on the floor for drainage. Becky
