Creeping phlox is not a heavy feeder...in fact, too much fertilizer will decrease blooms (especially nitrogen). This plant was only 5 inches across when placed here the year before, and the soil is nothing special.
The real secret to lots of blooms is enough sun and a good shearing after it blooms. The trimming forces it to make lots of new growth, on which it will set flower buds later. It helps to keep it watered during times of drought.

Wow, Susan. mine never looked that full. I have 2 pink blooming ones I was going to give away at the Central Texas Roundup this weekend. If you want one of them, let me know really quickly and I will send it to you when I send the other plants.

htop, a pink one would be great! I did find a white one and put it in the same area a week ago...three colors would really be a show.
