My spontaneous crocus hybrid

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

Spring has finally reached Newfoundland with many crocus having opened this past few days. I have many named Crocus chrysanthus cultivars but this one is a spontaneous hybrid...maybe 'Cream Beauty' X 'Lady Killer' or 'Advance' X 'Lady Killer' (those are the cultivars nearby). Regardless, it is an interesting coloured hybrid.

Very pretty - awesome coloration! Makes me want to buy a ton of crocus this fall... All I have are the standard white-yellow-purple. And the squirrels decimated them, but I have a few coming up still. . Gotta get some chicken wire...

Fabulous photo....Thanks for sharing
