Meet 'Lucifer'

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Another of my brugs I have finally been able to start propagating this spring.
Golden Lady x Butterfly

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Named for 'Lucifer'' ..the morning star.
"In Roman astronomy, Lucifer was the name given to the morning star (the star we now know by another Roman name, Venus). The morning star appears in the heavens just before dawn, heralding the rising sun.
The name derives from the Latin term 'lucem ferre', bringer, or bearer, of light."
In the Hebrew text the expression used to describe the Babylonian king before his death is Helal, son of Shahar, which can best be translated as "Day star, son of the Dawn." The name evokes the golden glitter of a proud king's dress and court (much as his personal splendor earned for King Louis XIV of France the appellation, "The Sun King")."
And for the Archangel, Lucifer ..bearer of light.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lemon yellow horizontal blooms are held high and proud.
Excellent fragrance.
Blooms in tremendous flushes over rich green foliage .. like stars in the sky!
The creases between the flares deepen in colour as the blooms ages.

She's(?) a beauty Alice, I love the stories behind the names. When you say you've started propagating, do you mean you're making cuttings? When will she be available?

Linda,
Glad you saw this thread. Thanks so much for all your help earlier this year.
There are still parts to fill in, but that chart has kept me better organized.
Better the the note book I jot things in. Now I transfer to the chart format.
I am not a lazy person, just my life is always too busy.

I had a few cuttings rooted in trial previously. But let this plant grow to big and last week took a good number of cuttings. For all your help, I will send you one ..if you wish.

DonnaB,
I owe you, too ..for 'Tatiana' ..which by the way both cuttings rooted.
#1 that rooted first is in a bigger pot now. Looking forward to seeing those blooms (o:
As I owe you, too .. if something you want as it is ready, just let me know.

Thanks, again, Everyone.

Alice-absolutely stunning flower. Now, I want to see some of your ugly or white hybrids----I know you must be hiding them somewhere. LOL They all can't be beautiful.
