How are you all doing in Alberta? Eaglesview how's it up your way?
........the wind is bitterly cold here and someone is supposed to get it! :b
Something Wicked is Heading Someone's Way
Lilypon - We had it overnight last night and into this morning. Had a good dump of wet snow (good because we could use the moisture). Was snowing and blowing until about 1:00 pm when the sun peeked through and most of the snow was gone by about 6:00 pm. The forecast is for 12 degrees tomorrow so please don't send that wind my way. Here is what it looked like this morning:

Yep moisture is always need but I do have somewhat mixed feelings about that picture! ;S It's supposed to just blow past us and not leave any reminders but will see what tomorrow brings. I personally would much rather have a good rain!
Good Heavens Susan that looks like an Ansel Adams b & w picture! Love the garden furniture. We had a few inches the other day but now it's warm again. Snow here in the valley nearly all gone, but the road to town (higher) still has 15" so we're still using skidoo. For 1 1/2 hours.
Susan I just looked at the first picture.......I really like that one! Ü
No skidoo needed here - the snow was pretty much gone by dinner time. But not a good day for the deck chairs!
Thanks for the compliments on the pics :-)
Ya, that's a nice picture Susan. I was just talking to my sister (eaglesview) and she said they were having a blizzard there. There's about an inch of wet snow on the ground but they're forecasting 10". She said it's good for the water situation but not so good for the calves that are being born. She doesn't think it'll last long though because it's not that cold.
nightowl - We aren't farmers or ranchers but all of our neighbours are. The crazy spring weather always seems to cause a problem for calving and/or seeding. I have seen our closest neighbours out at any time of the day or night and sleet or snow checking on those little babies. Hopefully the blizzard doesn't last in your sister's neck of the woods.
Sure not used to this prairie weather anymore!!! Just got back from Echo Beach and the wind has been absolutely horrendous! And it's been like that all day here in Regina. At least it hasnt' been cold. Are we supposed to get snow Pam?? Sure hope not!!!
I will just be glad if the wind calms down!! Hope everyone finds spring soon!
Glenda
Oh...okay, you're not back home Glenda. Just disregard part of that message I just put on the other thread.
Sandy
It's supposed to snow around Saskatoon and the Battleford's.......I hope they are right!
Hi everyone....yep, I can confirm that it's snowing at Saskatoon....just flew in from Victoria (via Vancouver and Calgary)...our landing in Stoon shortly after midnight this morning was absolutely hair-raising. We spent a good half-hour bobbing and twisting....the plane kept speeding up and slowing down again....all we could see out the window was darkness and snow (!!). Yech.
Winds are now gusting close to 50 km/h. It's not that cold out....somewhere around freezing....but really ugly-looking & sounding.
TGIF!! :-)
Shannon
Sorry Shannon.......I wouldn't have wished the snow up there with your flight coming in! :S
DS did his One Act play last night and walked home around 11:00 pm......he figured it felt like -20C here. The wind howled most of the night and it was hard to sleep. The sun is shining once again and there isn't any snow on the ground. :)

Ah, ya gotta love Springtime on the Prairies, eh? Love those photos though, Susan. Wish I could take pictures like that. Gotta keep practicing...
you guys make me feel cold!
Sure a change here today, very windy as well, but only a bit of rain so far.
Me thinks, that after breaky, my pillow is calling my name ;)
Thanks OFG - I was just admiring the spring color in your garden photos on another thread. I am jealous... But that's Beautiful BC for you! The weather here is kooky right now - snow yesterday and a forecast for 18 degrees tomorrow...
Susan
Like I said, ya gotta love Springtime on the Prairies! Enjoy that 18C. Tomorrow, Beautiful BC will be in the rain. :(
Very nice pictures Susan, looks like they could have been taken here this morning. The worst thing was the wind, it was gusting up to 60 km with the snow. Then it warmed right up and turned into a quagmire. This evening it reached 11 degrees, all the snow is gone, and all the mud is in my porch! Oh yeah, gotta love the prairies in Spring...
hahahaha gotta love springtime on the prairies :b Joelle said the winds were clocked at 90 km per hour here. We picked up more shingles off the front lawn.......we really have to get the roof done soon!!!
The Chris St. Clair on the Weather Channel reported this morning the the highest winds reported in that Sk storm the other day was Swift Current where the wind was clocked at 102 mph. Wow!
Nice nice pictures and btw anyone who wants our rain can have it. We have had so much I can see standing water in my garden and it is sandy loam and I have only seen water stand her a dozen times in 32 years. They say we are going to have a drought this summer because we did not get much snow in the mountians this winter.
Here is a pic from last summer to warm you all. Ernie
Real purty Picture, Ernie. Thanks, I feel the heat already! We are experiencing rain here today as well, but we haven't had it very steady. It rains, then stops , then gets sunny and warm, then a couple days later it repeats the process. We had drought conditions here last summer and they threaten us with it again this year. Time will tell, I guess. We are suppose to be back in the high teens, low twenties (68-70F) by early in the coming week.
Thank you Ernie.....we really appreciate it. Ü Way down deep we know warm weathers coming but...... ;)
Great picture, Ernie....thanks!
Shannon
Beautiful, Ernie--and such great looking corn! Perfectly framed by the sunflowers.
That is a gorgeous picture Ernie. I know what you mean....we've been getting a lot of rain here lately as well. I have to wear my boots when I take the dog for a walk. And to think we had such great weather a couple of months ago.
Gorgeous picture Ernie! We have warmed right up, sun is shining, nice weather predicted all week. Now, if only the wind would quit when I'm not at work and can go outside.
