Just got my first eBay Brug

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

I received my Citrine Brug today. Good root system and the leaves, although slightly crumpled, are in good shape. I planted it in a 14" plastic pot. Should I baby it for a few days? I put the pot where it will get morning sun then again late in the afternoon. Does it need more light? Full sun with late afternoon shade? I paid a fortune for this new hybrid and don't want to lose it.

When can I start a regular fertilizer program? I've ordered Monika's book and Brugmansias and Daturas, but they won't get here for about a week. Help!!!

Betty, that is a beautiful flower. Brugs are so easy to grow, and yours will be happy wherever you put it. Many of mine are in full sun, but most are plenty happy in part sun. Some afternoon shade or shade during the most intense period of sun is fine too. You can start fertilizing any time. Brugs are heavy feeders and respond well to fertilizer such as Miracle Grow. Don't worry and enjoy!

Congratulations on your ebay brug!
I personally would let it get "settled" into its new pot for a bit before adding fert. If you have SuperThrive, that would be a good thing to water it with initially. I think if you ease it into the sun, like it sounds like you are, is the best thing. Im sure more will come along and let you know what they do.
