Are there any brugs that are smaller varieties with their overall growth habits and blooms?
Not necessarily dwarf, but little compared to the majority?
Thanks in advance! Jackie
"Mini" Brugs
Eventide is supposed to stay smaller in stature.
'Golden Lady' is tight and compact.
'Gemini', also.
Butterfly is pretty compact, also.
Cher Chez la Femme, also is compact . though not a recognized brug.
Hope this helps.
Alice
I think a lot depends on where you are, your soil, how you fertilize, if you plant in pots or in the ground, etc. My Golden lady was huge last year as was my Butterfly. My smallest plants were Versicolor Orange, Harlot, and Antique Lace.
Butterfly--I'm 5'9" and you can see that I'm shooting the camera up to get the top of her.
Harlot was a cute one. This is a picture someone took at the Iowa Roundup and Kyle is checking the flowers on Harlot. I'd say Kyle is 6 ft. or more and you can see that Harlot is about shoulder high on him and she is in a 20 gallon pot. Her overall height is probably around 4 ft. However, this was an above the Y cutting, so I can't say it would always be like this.
Alice , Whatever happened to Cher Chez la Femme ? She is a real beauty.
My 'Antique' Lace is big. So is my versicolour .
Antique Lace, Golden Lady, and Gemini all have smaller flowers.
In the size of the plant, that did not change.
Thanks everyone for the info! I love Harlot and Cher Chez La Femme, just something about them really attracts me (LOL, I've said that too many times before.)
Shirley, your Butterfly is huge! Just beautiful.
Blaine, must be all that sweet-talking your doing to her, that's why she's so happy.
I find it fascinating that brugs can possess so many different qualities.
I will have to try and find some smaller flowered ones for a few spots in my yard.
Once again, thanks very much!
Jackie
