I'm in love!!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I love this new canna "Spitfire" its flowers command attention from clear across the yard,(greenhouse so far actually). The flowers are a great orange color with red pronounced stripes.I first saw this one in Chicago a year ago...finally got it....and the rest is history..(at least for this week!!!LOL)..

That's one of my favorites too. The hybridizer, Kent Kelly, who created it lives here in my city. I got to preview it for a couple of years before he put it on the market. That was my first "test" canna. And I was just awe-struck when I saw the fiery blooms.

I'm now testing two more cannas that he may market in a couple of years if they perform well. Can't wait to see them bloom!

Have fun with your Spitfire. I know it will dazzle people who visit your gardens.

Oh, speaking of dazzling. If you like Spitfire, you should get her big sister, Red Dazzler. Much taller with the same kinda blooms.
