First, let me offer my condolences to those of you with sick animals or that have passed away. I did want to share the following:
My very first experience with growing seedlings turned out with a gruesome ending for six, apparently very tender, little eggplant sprouts. Oh, the botany!!!!!I just spent the evening lovingly transplanting about 32 little seedlings of various varieties, my first seed growing venture ever. I knew I should hide them from the cats, but didn't have a good way to cover the eggplants overnight. Imagine my horror when I got up the next morning and checked them. It appears as though there are some herbivorous creatures (or creature, because I am pretty sure I know the culprit) in my home as the tender lttile leaves were all neatly chomped off. I will be buying eggplants from the greenhouse this year and will quarantine Miss Prefontaine (the kitty) whilst managing seedlings in the future. How come I didn't read this in Dave's Garden already so I know to look out for it?!!
