FTP problems

I have WS-FTP & have messed up I fear. I accidently started the upload for my whole picture files..many many pictures. I tryed to stop the upload & now it won't work. The folder seemed to have uploaded.. I feel I can delete it but with FTP messed up I sure don't want to delete all those pix. I though I had a small limit on what I could put in the website but now I don't know. I know under normal circumstance they would only delete off the web.
The side that FTP goes to (webside) seems to be fine but the computer side doesn't. Any ideas what I can do to fix it? Will deleteing the picture folder help?
I depend on it a lot.
BTW I use windows 98 & the FTP is the pay version for home puters. I have rebooted also
