So you just put them in a cup of water and they rooted?? Whatever, they look wonderful and healthy. Congrats!!!

Wow! Thats a lot of healthy growth already. I'm going to have a one-on-one with mine - show them your pics and suggest they get busy!

the littler one took forever to root .

i just put in a cup like the one above changed water ever other day and in a window. maybe they saw the irises in the background and got jealous. hehe

now to keep them healthy. when i got them they were bare.

hehe a one on one Blaine thats cute. hope it works for yours.

i am just glad they are doing.

See, those are the ''outta the bottom'' (hi-tech term ...lol) roots I told someone else about recently.
Good thing you didn't keep fussing an cutting the ends off. lol
Looking good .

I noticed it looks like you keep a really low level of water in the cup, compared to the normal 2 - 3 inches.

Maybe this is what encouraged the cambium root growth ?

Very interesting.

the reason i kept little water was that the littler one had the little nub thingy where it was Y at one time. i didnt know if it would root there or rot there and i didnt want to take chances. the littler one is a higher up the plant cut then the fat one which was a stalk cut.

i asked about a friends(Anns) root thingy from the bottom then yesterday when i looked at mine they were doing it too so i guess they root where they want too.

i am just glad they rooted. however they want to root is fine with me.

okay little bit was planted today since the weather is staying pretty constant now. he's in a shaded spot on my porch in a pot.

It's beautiful you are doing an excellent job with yours. Congratulations.

by the way the tests are going, I'm learning that rooting them in water first seems to yield leaves quicker. I put mine inground right away, and both are doing good, but leaves are not nearly as big as yours, imzadi. well, slow is not bad, in fact, it just mimics their mother's style. LOL Keep up the excellent work.

i barely had these in water due to the fact the little one has a notch and i didnt want to cover it with water due to a sprout coming out of it so they only had about a thumbs length of water in the cup. they were in a sunny window.
