Kramer and bluebonnets

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

This is my black lab. I adore him. He follows me around when gardening, I'm never out of his sight. If something startles me (like a lizard or something) he comes running to see what's wrong. Now if I could only teach him to dial 911...LOL Taken in a field near Hempstead, TX

What a pretty pic of your cute boy! :-)

We just went through Hempstead and around Brenham today. The wildflowers were everywhere. This is our baby, Nala Bean. She is such the model. The wind was a little scary for her today but we got this good shot.

Okay last one. This was taken in Independence. We went out to the Antique Rose Emporium and couldn't resist taking this shot in Old Baylor park.

Kauai, Nala Bean is a beaut. well, did you buy any roses?

Leander, TX(Zone 8b)

I about fell over when we got to the Rose Emporium. It was our first visit and I had no clue where to start!! We walked around the gardens and took several photos. Then we started shopping. I have never tried roses before so we agreed to just buy one. Do you know how hard of a decision that was? It took us forever to choose one. We ended up with Belinda's Dream because we loved the color, shape and smell of the flower. We also got some more pineapple sage and some garlic chives. Their herbs were a good price. And then we got a Pineapple Guava tree, it reminds us of our honeymoon. We can't wait to go back again. Here's a photo. Don't know which rose it was but they had just watered it and I couldn't resist. Have a great day, Kim

I want a Belinda's Dream!! Lucky dog! Lucky dog!

you cannot go wrong with Belinda's Dream. My next purchase (or trade) will be for that and also Katy Road Pink. You did good!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I've been growing Belinda's Dream for several years now and just love it. I'm a reluctant pruner and have let it get rather large but it really puts on a show. As soon as I get the camera's battery recharged I'll try for some pictures.

Also I have the climber New Dawn from Antique Rose Emporium. It was introduced in 1930 (the year I arrived) and is as reliable as ever.

ooohhhh I want to see y'alls photos. I am so happy that we chose a good one. It will give me some inspiration.

Kim,

I think Belinda's Dream is an Earthkind rose, which makes it better than ever! Yep, once you get started on the Antique Rose Emporium, there's no going back to your former life... but in a good way. I have family in Brenham, go there several times a year (was just there yesterday). There's always something to see (I especially like to watch for what is or is not in bloom during different times of the year.) They have certainly served as an inspiration for my garden. I never wanted to grow roses, was just not interested, now I have seven (I'm still looking for a home for one of them, and know of several more I'd like to get)!

Here's my widflower picture to add to the collection, a field at the back of the Rose Emporium...

Oh that is pretty. We saw that field as we were leaving. Had to catch some family before they left town. I have a aunt and uncle that live in Ledbetter, it is a spot on the road. However they have been telling us about the Rose Emporium for a few years now. Glad we finally got to it. Already talking about going back. Which roses do you have? I have never been interested in growing roses as well but when we got there our minds changed awfully fast. I would really love to see more photos!!
