I'm in the process of planting my raised beds and would like to know which brugs I can plant in full sun. Our summers usually get very hot and humid, not like New Orleans but high. The temps can get over 100 during a really hot summer and where our house is located we get a good amount of wind.
If you could help me decide which ones to try I would appreciate your nput and promise not to hold it against you if they don't make it.

Hardiest Brug .... please give me your opinion
I don't like to put my Brugs where there is alot of wind. It tends to tear up the leaves. I spent so much back breaking time (I hurt my back badly) moving my brugs away from the elements last year and they ended up happy on my front porch, so they are all going to be there this year, space willing. If not, some can go on the West side of the house, that is more protected from my neighbor's house. They liked it there too. But it's along the driveway - not the prettiest place for them.
Rosamond and Pink Beauty are my most hardy brugs, they take both cold & heat well, and wet nor dry conditions don't seem to faze them, they root & set buds easily and they are not bug magnets. I really like both...

I had a a rosamodx lamour seedling in the ground last year ,It bloomed twice too little blooms and that was it LOL, and way. I cut the stalk off to the ground and rooted it in the green house this winter, I didn't mulch or anything and it is peeping it's little head out!! it survived th elements here but that isn't saying much the weather is semi mild here.
Butterfly and Dr. Suess are sun lovers as is Maya. I grew Pink Beauty in full sun and Golden Lady enjoyed the sun also. I think a lot of them can handle full sun, but some really like it and others will do a little better with some protection.
I'm in Iowa...so we don't get as hot as some places.

I believe I have both Dr Suess and Pink Beauty so I'll give them a try in full sun but watch them closely.
All the others I'm planning on placing where they will get morning sun and afternoon shade.
If anyone has additional comments, they would be appreciated.

Hmm Judy.. maybe you could place them out there in the pots for awhile.. or bury the pots so that if the spot doesn't work you can move them out with not trouble..and if it does work you can just go ahead and plant them?
Judy, we are pretty close zonally. My best bloomers last year were: Rosamond, Golden Lady, Tequila Sunrise and L'Amour. Rosamond was the only one of those in full sun and she did well. I find that I have a never ending battle with spider mites when I plant Brugs in full sun when we hit the dog days of August. I am saving my pennies...(well actually dollars) to invest in a bottle of Avid so I can try a few more in full sun this season.
Mel
whiskers does well for me here in full sun also
Pink Beauty and Rosamond are the hardiest for me overall; V. orange did well in the sun, but is the worst to overwinter.
Hey springsong............... WYB ?
