Clivia Won't Bloom

I have a Clivia that is about two-three years old. It appears to be healthy as it green, and continues to create new leaves. It has never bloomed. When I purchased it, it was in bloom. What is the secret to these? My mom had a friend that had one. She kept it in her dining room all year long, it received little light at best, and was watered sparingly. It bloomed like crazy with multiple bloom stalks. Any information on these plants would be appreciated.

They do have to be 'a few' (not sure exactly the #) years old to bloom, and they need a cool and dry winter rest in order to bloom.

It needs cool weather or cool nights and should be kept on the dry side in the fall. They do best in bright but indirect sunlight.

Yes - they need some real time in a cool room. Like mid 50's. I made the mistake
of repotting mine years ago - it didn't bloom again 'til it filled in the pot. They like to be
pot-bound so don't transplant it until its breaking out of the pot.
