Mom and dad had to put Delilah to sleep today. She'd lost five pounds in those two months she was missing and was really thin. Blood tests showed she had a bad case of pancreatitis. An enzyme level of 1000 would be high for a cat, and hers was 4000. They had her on antibiotics twice, but no help...She lost another pound since coming home. She'd act hungry, but would only nibble (even on fresh meat) and turn away after a few bites. She was painfully thin.
Today, the vet assured them they'd done everything they could and that there really wasn't a point in doing the tests to see if she had a tumor, for she still had the pancreatitis and was not going to get better. I feel so bad for my folks. :( They let Tigger sniff her body and say goodbye, and buried her in their back yard.
