Here is a picture of my voodoo lily that just
opened yesterday and boy does it stink.

Gee, that's a strange looking plant Wilma. Is it one of those kind of plants that gets leaves after it blooms? I'll have to look that one up.
I really don't know never had one before, but is sure is different.
just growing in a clay pot no soil at all. no water
now I wonder what to do after it has finished blooming?
No soil?? Curiouser and curiouser.
Stinks? No water? No soil? and is named "Voodoo?
I say...........RUN!!!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!!
LMBO
Where did you get that?
I bought it at the local garden centre, thought
it was something different to try and it sure was..
Hee hee. Dill Pickle my dear, tis but a question of reading. There are many so called lilies that are not lilium. See you soon.
Early on in my lilium life I had one of these. Couldn't work out where the stink was coming from. Thought it might be a dead rat or squirrel in the crawl space. Finally discovered what it was so..... opened the door and threw the bulb as far as possible into a field.
Here in Victoria people grow them outside but cut off any bloom. This gives you a pretty foliage for your garden.

Yes is sure don't look like a lily to me,
and yes I too was wondering where the smell was coming from.
Guess that is where the plant will go Outside.. in a pot.
so good to see you back on DG.. miss you..
see you soon, hope you took allot of pictures...
Beautiful day here, have put my plants out in my mini greenhouse,
someday soon a real greenhouse....
hugs *Ü*
My neighbour across the street has one, at the end of his garden by the road...
It has a lovely tall purple bloom, that smells like rotten meat. I think it's related to skunk cabbage. Here's another thread talking about it more in detail. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/493319/
Dillpicke, get it OUT of your house while you can still breathe! LOL
Wow, I can't believe how big they get. I think you need a bigger pot Wilma.
Yes I will put it out and it will be planted in a bigger pot,
but I just can't believe that this plant grows without soil or water.
