VERY pretty! They have such a delicate beauty. Is this your orchid or from the orchid show?

What kind of care does a Iwanagara entail?

Thanks CM,
it is my Orchid. I have it for quite a few years.
I have been growing it along with my other Cattleyas. In Winter it gets bright sun inside and it always goes outside ( light shade during noon hours) during the Summer months - from ca. May 15. to Sept.15. I water it every day ( it is in a clay pot) with rainwater and feed it during active growth with diluted Peters 20 20 20 and I switch to 10 50 10 blossom booster when the plant starts to spike.
I am including some of my older links. The plant never fails to please, this year it has three spikes.

For those interested, this is a quadrageneric hybrid between Brassavola, Cattleya, Laelia and Caularthron (Diacrium)...very delicate colouring!

I'm so envious of your GH!!! The passiflora is amazing!!! Is it vining around anything or is it just suspended like that?

How do they do a quad hybrid???? That sounds super complicated.

Please don't be envious.
Passifloras especially always run away like that, they will cling to anything you give them. Then you just guide them a bit.

CaptMicha,

Here is the parentage for Iwa. Apple Blossum:

In a nutshell, a quadrigeneric hybrid comes from the successive mating of plants that are traced back to four separate genera. This link might be of interest, perhaps: http://aos.org/aos/orchids/orchids.aspx?sec=11
