My neighbor was given a box of seeds from NK lawn and garden from 2002
They are all unopened
Her family picked thru what they wanted and gave me the rest thinking I'd find something to do with them
Yeah Right
I'd like to offer them for postage but I work 60 hours a week and just don't have time to dole out a pack here or a pack there.I also don't know if the germination will be any good, although I did start some of the pepper seeds and some did better than others
I kept hoping there would be a veggie round robin or something
any suggestions on what to do with these????
I've even thought about opening them all up and tossing them behind my barn.......LOL

If you look on the front home page of the Dave's Garden website there is a list of all the forums. One of them is called Round Robin. A RR is when people sign up and then the box is sent to everyone on the list and each person is responsible for the postage to the next person. Each person takes out what they want and replace it with something else. It will end up with you again at the end but it will be all different seeds.

Thanks for your help everyone
NK seed packs are made for big box stores. We have had bad experience with germination. Yours are 3 years old, I wouldn't expect much.
Bernie
I thought you could soak them in peroxide and up the germination rate?
-Juli
I will try the germination rate myself. The worst that could happen is that the hybrids won't come true. Many seeds that wouldn't have thought possible for germination, I have found out just need more soaking than usual; and alot of people are in a rush these days. You need to germinate them like I was taught when I was 7 years old; by a wonderful farmer in PA who I used to visit every summer till I was 15. He is long gone now, but his ideas still rest in my head.
Mostly you have to soak the seeds for 48 hours, starting with very hot sink water; keep them well covered with the water (you know they're gonna swell) and keep in a warm room for the 48 hours. Drain well using cheese cloth, clean feed-bag (burlap) or old white cotton sheet. He always planted by hand, machinery was not an option then.

Hi Karyn,
That was fast! I received them in yesterdays mail, but I was too tired to do too much; my mind was drawing blanks till I got some rest.
Thank you very much.
