I'd grown up a few too many cuttings last winter.. [ this year I have far more new ones... and growing each and every one.. If they have to be one on top of another ] and thought I'd narrow down my color plate and give a few away... One I gave as a 5' flowering spring thing [ great growth ]I'd had from a small fall cutting .. it bloomed alot in the summer.. and she brought it inside... and was keeping it going there... She left for a winter in Fl. and her tennant prmised to water them and her other plants.. she returned the other day .. and we were greeted with the fully flowering brug pictured.. and the tennant saying .. OH... that was the second flush she has had since she was there from about Christmas time. it's my vote for the most cooperative and complyant with every imagineable thought of how one might be a great Brug..not to mention the intoxicating aroma.. inside the flower [ I'm waek remembering it ]and through out the house... Well, I can't remember just who it is ... is there some thought as to the name of this one... she didn't remember and I can't tell myself... given the probually change of color in the inside bloom... as I remember it was darker as I gave it to her...and it happend last summer... I can't remember myself who I told her it was ..
I'll get a cutting back and keep this one ... not bad for the winter in front of a NYC window.. managed by a tennant farmer.. Gordon
April Fools Flower in NYC
Isn't it great to have those beautiful flowers this time of year.
It's hard to say what is is Gordon as it might be a completely different color this summer outside.
Congrats on your friends blooms.
Don't know the name but it is beautiful

It looks like the first Angels Trumpet I ever saw. I was visiting a friend and the neighbor had one that was tree sized in the back yard. Its smell was intoxicating. As my frienbd was showering I sat there with my face in those blossems for about 15 minutes. A little later over a candle lit dinner my face swelled up like a pumpkin and she had to drive me to a hospital. I love those plants, but you have to enjoy them from a distance!
What a shame CAS that you had such a reaction to them.
I can understand why you must keep your distance from them.
At least you found out before you started growing them and got totally addicted if that's any consolation. :(
Oh no. That would be terrible. I'm sure that some of us that grow lots of them, run the risk of developing an allergy to them. It happens with other things too.
Gordon, that is a lot of blooms for inside. Congrats.
Oh how wonder Gordon.
