Hawaiian Snowbush, Redleaf Breynia, Snow Bush, Snow-on-the-Mountain, Sweetpea Bu

I had an argument with a neighbor about what this plant is. He said it was Snow on the Mountain. Fortunately, I saved the tag that came with my plant. It is actually a Red Hot Hibiscus. Scientific names Clavel, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis "Red Hot"
Beautiful misture of cream, pink and green with flowers as a bonus. Mine hasn't produced flowers yet...not like other types of Hibiscus. This picture should be removed from the Hawaiian Snowbush site.

The plant in the photo looks correct to me. Compare the leaves in this photo to the leaves in the Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Red Hot' entry here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/46827/

Looks like the snow bush I just bought... tag on container said "snow on the mountain" it has small rounded multicolored leaves. Looks exactly like this picture. There is a hibiscus bush with multicolored leaves...they have a larger leaf and it is pointed. Check out variegated hibiscus ".

My snow bush is continuing to drop its lower leaves, perhaps in response to it being potted up in a 1 gallon, its watered regularly and the mix has a bit of slow release ...i dont know why im worried....it still looks nice but i find it very interesting how a tricolor leaf loses all its color and turns yellow !!! talk about some plant physiology there.. it could be im , over watering it? when i skimp out, it drupes LOL!!!

"snow on the mountain is probably the cultivar name , as there are many for hibiscus sinensis, including one more comonly used , "snow queen"

If you look at the header in the top post, it lists many common names that this plant is know by:
Hawaiian Snowbush, Redleaf Breynia, Snow Bush, Snow-on-the-Mountain, Sweetpea Bush, Ice Cream Bush
'Roseo-picta' is the cultivar name and the Genus is Breynia, the species is disticha

Thats correct !, it is always more reliable to depend on the latin name then fooling around with common and folk names...
