Has it's first blooms for this year. The winds and rain has beaten them.

Jackie
Amber Rose X Butterfly, Jackie.
Just beautiful, Ada!! Excellent cross. I was having a crummy week, and this really made me smile.
Seeing this bloom is just what I needed. Thanks!
Glad it made you feel better, Jackie. LOL
Lovely Ada!
You're right, Kin. I want to see which color it will be when it gets warmer. If it'll stay like these are or if it'll turn pinker like last year.
Thanks, Joelle.
Ada....first class! lovely.
Carol
Thanks, Carol.
Ada, do you have other seedlings of this cross?? If so, are they similar or completely different and can you tell a family resemblance on like crossed seeds??? TIA!!!
Sherry, I'm can't remember if I have other seedlings of this cross without checking. I know I've seen more labels with the cross but I also took cuttings from this one last fall. I'd have to sort thru them to know for sure which is which. LOL I'm sorry but I have so many, it's hard to keep up with all of them without checking.
Gorgeous! I love the shape and color. I ran and looked at my current crop of seedlings and I have 2 of that cross. I hope they bloom this year...
Eileen, maybe you'll see blooms soon. Feed them good. LOL
Ada those are so beautiful. Gives me hope for my first summer.
thanks
blaine
Thanks, Blaine.
Thanks, Ada!!! I really didn't ask the question correctly - what I was trying to ask was, has Amber Rose x Butterfly been crossed before?? I'm interested because I received seeds of what I thought would be pretty common crosses. Do such common crosses ever produce special brugs?? I just love your AR x Butterfly, it is really beautiful, this year and last year, congrats!!!
Sherry, I don't know if these two have been crossed before but they probably have been. I haven't seen any pictures of this cross that I remember. Monika would be the person to ask about the common crosses producing special brugs. She grown them longer than any of us and is so knowledgable. It would probably depend on what traits the seedling gets from which parent.
Sherry, you have mail
(((WOWIE))) that was some really nice news Ada - thank you so very much!!!!!!!!!!!
Wowsers Ada ... thats a beauty!!
Gerris, I use whatever I have on hand at the time. LOL I use Miracle Grow, Peters, Alfalfa tea, 10- 10- 10. I'm not choicey. LOL
Joseph, do you remember what kind it was?
I done that one year with climbing tomatoes except I poured the manure to them. LOL
Ada/Sherry, I keep a list of crosses and there is only one Amber Rose X Butterfly on it. Susie French hybridizer, 'Chrissie' is the hybrid and it is a light yellow.
That's super, LindaSC, that you keep a list of crosses. Do you get them from this forum or is there another forum that discusses crosses. Okay, so I assume 'Chrissie' the only child of AR x Btfy or are there others? I believe I remember Chrissie's name and possibly a photo. That's some job you have LindaSC, and also very useful. I'm just reaching the point that I'm interested in crosses. When I started, I thought I was only interested in rootings, but now I've fallen in love with seedlings. I think my path is a pretty common one..................since I'm posting, I think I'll mention that I cannot imagine having 6 - 8 foot basal shoots last year, that seems impossible since the brug that provided it is hardly out of the ground yet. It is an unknown and grew to 13 - 14 feet, last season, and would have gotten taller if the power company had not set a cherry picker on top of her. Whatever, when I get a basal shoot this year, I'm going to try rooting it in the bubbler and i cannot wait!!! Off to search more for the thread about Sea Kale and bugs...
Very beautiful!!
Bonnie
Thanks, Linda and Bonnie.
Very pretty, Ada! Very versi-looking! Are they your crosses or are you the Mommy?
Kay
