Can dogs take ibuprofin?

I know its always best to give a dog medication made for them but I also know that you can give them imodium and I believe baby asprin. But can a dog take ibuprofin aka advil, motrin? This is something that crossed my mind this morning for no apparent reason and I cant get it out of my head.
