DH called me at work this morning. Peduncles on the pottsii I repeated out loud! Co workers wonder what I'm up to now. Yesterday I was hunting for an oriental buddha for the garden room I'm creating, today it's peduncles on the pottsii.
Counted them this evening and there are at least 8. This will be the first blooms on this H. pottsii.
H. pubicalyx Pink Silver is blooming in it's hanging basket next to an 8 ft. brugmansia in bloom. Also my favorite carnosa (?) has several buds on it. Would like to see if someone can positve ID it for me when the flowers come. Love it as it drips a heavy clear nectar and the blooms are white.
I fed my first dose of Messenger two weeks ago. I'm sure the peduncles on the pottsii were already on their way, or were they?
Spring is here too!
Inquiring minds want to know about the buds on the Pottsii, was it because of the Messenger? Stay tuned for more info..........:-)

I don't know if this is the right time of year to test these things. The plants know it is spring. So I don't know if it is all the fertilizer I am puting on them or not.

Susan...I had the same experience...suddenly there isn't ONE umbel...but a whole bevvy of them!!! and the plants are growing like mad.
GH - Messenger has been talked about a lot on the Brugmansia forum...and some on this one. Look up www. edenbio.com . They make it.
