CLOSED: WANTED: sweet potato var. "Marguerite" Ipomoea Batatas

Waxhaw (Charlotte), NC(Zone 7b)

I am looking for divisions of "Marguerite" Sweet potato (Ipomoea Batatas (L.) Lamarac var. "Marguerite") the chartreuse (light green) ornamental sweet potato. If you have any divisions of "Blackie", too, to accent that would be just great.

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

kd If you haven't gotten any and if you can wait a couple of weeks I'll have some. My "taters" are just now putting out some sprouts.

Thanks jody. I just got some. But thank you for offering. I really appreciate it.
I hope to trade with you at a later stage. Thanks again.

I saw these at the nursery today, and I MUST try one! How do you grow these? Do they come from seed? I see they trail, would they be OK in a 14" hanging basket? What requirements do they have? Sorry, lots of questions, but there is so much to learn!

Thanks,
J

They must be grown from vegetative cuttings or offsets. they do not come true from seed. Grow them like you would any bulb.

Thanks Ken,
Neat looking things! Might go good in one of my hanging baskets. Off to find some!

J
