How does everyone ship their plants safely?

I was wondering how everyone ships their plants? In small pots? Or what? could you let me know so I can trade with everyone?

I wash off all soil from the plant roots, remove as many leaves as possible, wrap the roots in wet kitchen towel, then wrap the towel in cling film and label them. I always use a cardboard box filled with tissue/polystyrene/bubble wrap/straw or anything else soft to prevent the plants from bumping aroung in the box.

The box always has both my address and the person who it is to be sent to. I always write LIVE PLANTS on the box in big letters and then pay for 1st class postage.

I do pretty much the same as Baa (above) but I don't mark the box live plants seems the ones I mark the post office destroy..... lol My imagination maybe but thats been the case. I also include a note inside saying what I am sending and in trade for what and my email address.
