Fennel?

Ridgeville, IN(Zone 5a)

I got this plant from a neighbor lady. She said it was fennel. But it doesn't look like the fennel I grew last year. I'm wondering if this is a different variety? Or mabye not fennel at all. She says it spreads alot. The fennel I had last year was an annual for zone 5. Hers is a perennial for zone 5. Can anyone ID this plant?

It is not a fennel for sure! It looks like it seems to belong to the daisy/chrysanthemum family.

I didn't think so either. hmm. I post this to the Identification forum as well. Jenny

I was thinking about the tansy too though I'm not too familiar with that plant.

now I have some tansy. But it doesn't look like that. I suppose there are different varieties of tansy....maybe it is on of the others? I've posted this pic at the identification forum as well. We'll see if we can get this solved yet.

There have been 2 suggestions in the ID forum. One is Tansy Tanacetum vulgare, the other is Dyer's Chamomile. Any thoughts?

Chamomile was my other choice.
