i just sent some seeds to India. i had to write on there it was seeds and they were a gift and how many seeds for the customs form.
i asked a friend and she says that i did it all wrong and hopefully customs doesnt come after me. Now i am really scared as this is my first time sending seeds overseas to someone.
should i be worried????

I don't think 'they will come after you, for a few seeds...the last time I was in the Netherlands, I had a bag of Daffodil Bulbs that I mailed home, Customs apparently didn't like them, and they confiscated them. and that I was it, they just took the bulbs...I would imagine that is what will happen to you...they will just take the seeds.
I have shipped several times to and from other places - if they dont like them it will be there not here and they just keep them or charge them a fee to get them out. It will not get back to you unless you sent a drug or something, dont worry sometimes they let them through sometimes they take them.
I mailed seeds to Ursula in Chile and stupidly wrote "seeds" on the envelope. The seeds were confiscated and burned, but no one came after me. I sent her another packet and wrote something like "hobby supplies" on it and they arrived with no problem.
I sent seeds to Canada; they asked me, I said plastic beads. Ho hum.... beads / seeds they sound the same and can have the same shape... eh?

imzadi, Pakistan seems pretty liberal about seeds, bulbs, etc. I really don't know about India. I would ask the person you ar sending to. They should know the laws for their country. I usually claim 'collectables' on my customs form, which is not technically untruthful. However, some post offices won't accept such a general term. I don't think you will be in any 'trouble' one way or the other. At worst, your seeds will be confiscated.

Do you send Registered mail (for him to sign for) -to- Kaleem or not? Seeds I sent to him a while back he did not get. I want to send him more seeds but I want to make sure he gets them this time.
