It's Tacca aka Black Batflower Trading time

Kirbyville, TX(Zone 8b)

I have a greenhouse that needs to be rearranged, for flats of seeds...I have beautiful 8 -10 inch potted Tacca plants that are in 4 inch pots, and are ready for larger pots. I started these from seed last season, and it's time to trade them...I am looking for unusual tropicals, plumeria, grapevines, philodendrons, aroids, bamboo, hoyas, orchids, unusual aquatics, or any other out of the norm perennial or tropical plant. I also grow succulents, and cactus....I would also be interested in trading for rare or unusual seeds...Tempt me! Debra~

Hello,

It's not quite warm enough here (Pennsylvania) to risk shipping live plants, but I'd still like to trade a 'dancing ladies' orchid for a bat plant. How about I contact you again in a few weeks to arrange a trade? Our calendar says spring but our weather is not cooperating.

Gee Debra,
Mine are sure growing slow compared to yours. Maybe they aren't getting enough light. I think it's safe to put them outside now. Would they do good under the dappled light from an oak tree? It is on the northeast corner of the house. BTW do they spread by root or runners or only by seed? I don't want to overcrowd them.

Orangeville, PA(Zone 6a)

Hi there. Wow, what a cool plant, never seen anything like it! I would be growing indoors, in a sunroom, would it do well/flower, do you think? If so...I have some rooted cuttings of Ceropegia Sandersonii (Parachute plant) I could part with (been saving them for a special trade). Might have to hold off a couple weeks until we're guaranteed non-freezing weather, because I'm in zone 6. I'm starting to wonder, in fact, if Pennsylvania even knows it's spring yet(!) Lemme know if you're interested/think they'd do well indoors. :) Can send pics.

Wow, I wish I had something cool to trade for it...but I don't. Maybe next year. My kids would probably kill it anyway!
