It's official gardening has started

Goshen, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi All,

The weather of cold and rain has stopped for a few days and I couldn't resist the tempation to get out and so some gardening, took a break from the Brugs to start building a new flower bed in my front yard.

No I do not have on black gloves those are my hands, my butt was muddy, my face was smudged with mud and my clothes a mess, what fun it was. Told my hubby that this is his adorable wife for the summer so he bettter love to hug mud LOL.

I think I earned my name honestly and I think I am quite attractive with this look don't you?

This just goes to prove we never get to old to play in the mudd.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

my hands were not that black but pretty dirty, I love it when I can start tearing into old beds and start new ones

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Still waiting for the right weather here. You sure look happy. It must have been a good day for you.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Lucky you. I can't wait to get dirty. I've still got to wait for the snow to melt and then get through mud season before I can do any digging.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Now, you're looking like me. LOL

Goshen, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL we all must love making mudpies, thank goodness my grandson wasn't home for this one.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

It doesn't have to be muddy outside and I get that dirty. LOL I can just be potting and it looks like I've been mechanicing.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Fun , fun, fun, Thinkdirt...yes, your name is just perfect!

Goshen, OH(Zone 6a)

do you all keep a set of dirty clothes so you can put them on again and wash so many until the job is done?

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I can hardly wait .... we had a couple nice days here, nice and warm. Pond is melting, geese are returning, but they say it is suppose to get cold again this weekend!

Goshen, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey waterloo, I have fake geese floating on my pond I think it is Spring lol

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

It must be wonderful to have that beautiful rich black dirt instead of the yucky red clay we have here in GA.

Here, Here!
We have a sudden burst of spring warmth 50s-60s. First project was relocating the compost bin 10' east then building the new bed, installing windmill, transplanting 3 roses there and moving all the rocks I drug back from CO. Now it's ready for when the Aspen arrive to go behind the windmill and the clematis arrive to go up the windmill.
Yesterday was another winner so project #2 was completed. Got my buddy to prepare a hole in his yard. Took down a fence, dug and transplanted 13' foot Oak tree. I might have been a little generous with the root ball but we finally got it undercut, wrapped and out of the hole.

School's out for the week and rather than head out to visit family I sit and wait for the rain to stop. The fun part is that my family now understands. Spring just doesn't happen quick enough for me.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Blaine. You've been busy. It's supposed to get 80 today here so I'm pulling plants outside. I just wish it would stay this warm but I know we're going to haver another cold snap

Goshen, OH(Zone 6a)

Wow 8ftbed, you have really been busy, you haven't let any grass grow under your feet. I am trying today to do some more work but my body is so stiff from yesterday that I can hardly move, I would say I am not in shape for all this manual labor but spring brings out the best, I tell myself just one more bed no more LOL well that doesn't work after I completed yesterdays bed, I was looking around and found another place that would look good, oh no not another bed Yup just one more.

Azalea, We also have alot of clay dirt, I go buy that rich black dirt and mix it in and eventually I have really nice dirt.

Not as busy as I should or would like to be. These were the first two days I've been able to get out. Sign of spring and being late on the draw... on a beer break I headed for the Norway maple street tree which I detest. I'd been eyeing a few more limbs to take off. Well... I sawed off about a 3.5" diameter limb and sap ran like a faucet with disintegrated washer. fat drip every 2 seconds. Ooooo, thassa too bad. If it bleeds to death I'll replace it with one of the Chinese Red birches I started from seed. !!

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Mine are out in the yard now...on the cement pad we have outside of the carport....it's been 70's & 80's here too. The low's have been 40's...and they all look great. I applied some diluted alaskan fish emulsion to them all the other day and they are looking like WOW!!! I have buds everywhere coming up!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I have a pair of worn out overalls and a baggy dress my grandmother made me. Thats what I usually garden in. Once they start to stand on thier own it's time for washing, hehe.
You're name is perfect thinkdirt!!
