I tried this last year but it was hot and their roots were cut and I think it was too much for them to bear. I would like to try again, Artemisia Tridenta is hardy to zone 8. I know it is still cold there, but it is perfect weather for planting here, would anybody be willing to dig in the snow to get some for me? I can send a box of stuff when it warms up on your end. Can't say for sure what I'll have at that time but I have seeds coming up everywhere.

WANT: Wyoming Big Sage
bumpity bump bump bump
Do you have a link to a picture or website of what you are looking for?
I've googled Artemisia tridenta, but can't find enough supporting information to know if the sagebrush we have around here is what you are looking for.
I did try though. :)
If you can send me more info on this particular cultivar, I will try to determine if what we have here is what you are looking for. Unfortunately, ours is still dormant, so since it doesn't have any leaves, sending you a picture wouldn't prove anything.
The kind I am looking for is particular to Wyoming. Technically Artmisia Tridenta sp. Wyomingus or something like that. Even tho it is Art. Tri. the ones in Wyoming have a particular smell that I really enjoy. It's my favorite smell, actually. I even went as far as to buy a box of bundled cuttings last year on Ebay (not for growing, just to dry and have in the house). Haven't seen them on Ebay since then. I just had a thought, tho, I'm gonna try posting to Ebay's "wanted."

I have one, the third one I have tried to grow. It is not planted yet, maybe in a couple weeks. Mountain States Wholesale Nursery has them I am sure. They have a relationship with an online retail person who could get them for you if you were inclined to go that route. Check out their site, which appears to be down right now. High Country Gardens has it. I am not sure if the Wyoming one is any different from the regular one. http://www.highcountrygardens.com/shop/results.html?pt=2&fuse=1&page=0
