We are having a wet spell here in North Florida with fungus out everywhere. I noticed a yellow crust on the underneath of oxalis leaves. Some of the plants looked close to death with shriveled leaves while others had just a few specks. I have tentatively identified the organism as Puccinia oxalidis but really just by matching photos on the internet. Has any one ever had this fungus? Does it spread to other plants in the landscape? Can it be treated? So far, I have just cut off the foliage of severely effected plants.
Oxalis Rust - Puccinia oxalidis
Oxalis is die-proof. When the leaves don't look healthy, cut them down and they'll grow back fine.
Don't know anything about the fungus in particular. But I've had funky stuff on my oxalis before and cutting it down solved the problem. Usually this time of year when it's wet.
