So we're calling it "Bleached Barrel?" :)

I haven't seen it but I did pick up what I believe is called a Echinocactus grusonii monstrose (Twisted Barrel, lol!) a few months ago. I'll have to be on the lookout for the albaspinus. I'm such an addict!

Jen, pic please of your twisted barrel.. never seen either one, white or twisted,, COOL!

I have no idea what they're calling this one. The nursery(Turner Greenhouse) owner told me its an albino golden barrel. I've first seen them in 2002 in the owner's private collections. They were not for sale then.
Well, LeeAnn, I guess now you've seen a white one. Now, we want to see the twisted one, Jen.

Jen, you might want to check out Bach's nursery to see if they carry a white one. They have 10 times more cacti than Turner's, and they're right where you are.

i really never heard of white golden barrel, but as you know, im pretty new at this cactus thingy.. ;0)
sure is perdy tho,, gonna have to keep a lookout for one of those! hehehe

They're probably fairly new to the market, but I'm not sure when it came out.

Ack, I described mine wrong! Sorry! It's an Echinocactus grusonii v. cristate. I don't have a picture yet but here's a link to one: http://www.arizonacactussales.com/retail/thumbnails/th_20030400.jpg A couple places in town are carrying them now.

I've got to keep away from Bach's for awhile (they know me and my kids by name now, lol!) until I finish up my cactus-free courtyard. At no point should anyone have this many plants waiting for holes! Once I've got this project under control I'll venture out again. Bach's is definitely the place to start. The trouble is I'll need a few things to group with the Albino Golden Barrel...

I finish up my cactus-free courtyard.????????????? what????? cactus free??????LMAO... just kid'n of course,,

OK, not exactly cactus-free, lol! I've got a few in pots on the porch - just for additional visual interest, mind you, while one sits and enjoys the garden... which I REALLY should be working on right now.

Hmm... An Albino Goldn Barrel night be good visual interest in there. Hmm.

yeppers, i was think'n the same thing.... now,, time to go "cactus hunting" hehehe

My yard and patio can never be cactus free. I have cacti in the backyard, front yard and inside the house as well.
I've always wanted an albino golden barrel and now finally I got one. I hope you two will get some soon.
I did my cactus hunting a few weeks ago, but I'm not satisfied until I pay a visit to Bach's.
