Back to the group from Dallas

Euless, TX

Hello everyone:

Apparently I had joined this group at some time...cannot remember when, but here I am again. Usually frequent GardenWeb, but since I have been off work the past couple of days...just looking around for infomation and inspiring ideas.. raining here in Dallas this morning, and we seem to be having, what I think , is a very early spring...considering that I already have the three main beds in my landscape ready for planting. Usually, this is not accomplished until later in April. Of course, we didn't have a 'real' winter either. I can say that I have the beds ( three main in back yard...along two sides of fence, and 120 feet again stone retaining wall that supports deck and spa) about 50% planted...hope to make it 100% this year. I have had good luck with day lillies, iris's, cast iron plant, liriope, grasses, crepe myrtles, roses,,,have just ordered 40 mini 'crape myrtles' (from a grower in Florida) , and plan to really beef up the beds with perennials this year. I really want to grow some Hydrangea's...think I Have enough shade in one area, since I have three huge oaks in my yard, and my neighbors tree's more or less, line my fence, so I get 'dappled' shade at different times during the day. I really don't have "full sun or full shade'...a challenge! I usually have about 50 containers going...( DH says a thousand!) and, I love all of the begonias. I NEED A GREENHOUSE!!! I am a Registered Nurse, work in Hospice...love being outside and in the dirt. Hope to talk to all of you...thanks...MargeeTx
