Lost My Screen Saver

Mount Hermon, LA(Zone 8b)

Hello!

This is not a new problem, but thought that I might get some help here (Microsoft and Vaio have been no help at all).

I have a Sony Vaio with 528 RAM and a 60 gigabyte hard drive, running Windows XP. I was using the standard XP "Bliss" screen saver that came with the computer.

Quite a while back, I noticed that the screen saver was no longer functioning. I checked the delay time (before the SS would activate), did a preview (the Preview displays perfectly), and clicked "Apply" (again). I have done this a bazillion times, both by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing "Properties" and also by going through the Control Panel's Display function.

At some point, I either downloaded something unsavory, screwed up the drivers when I installed Pearl Harbor & a Joystick (with drivers), or else I unwittingly changed something I shouldn't have while poking around the system settings (I know -- bad girl !!).

Does anyone know why a screen saver would stop functioning? And where I can look, on my computer, to try to get it to function again? I'm completely lost here. Thanks for any assistance anyone can give.

Jean
