TODAY

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

I moved all of my hoyas ,all of the brugs and most of the epiphyllums out of the gh. Hope I didn't jump the gun but I think winter is pretty much over for us,though we normally have a chance of frost up until about April 15th.

I think you will be watching the icles hanging from your plants!!

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

hopefully not. Our temps this week are great. the coolest low for the next 5 days is to be around 49 with daytime temps ranging from 65-75F.
The azaleas, tulip trees and just about everything else is blooming here. I also noticed that my altheas and confederate rose have sprotued as welll as the brugmansia which are planted in the ground. I only take my favorite brugs into the gh for the winter.

I am keeping a close eye on the muscadine vines, when they sprout you can be sure that the days of frost are over for the year. Of course the way the weather has been the past year or so nothing would surprise me. Last year we jumped right out of winter into summer with no spring at all.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't raise hoyas, David, but had inquired about you on the brug forum. Scooterbug directed us here. Miss you on the brug forum. Hope everything is going well for you and how is your grandmother?

Dennisport, MA(Zone 5a)

I think u have the wrong David... never was in the BRUG FORUM !!

Carol, it's getting very warm over here on the east coast. Ever heard of Myrtle Beach? Really popular tourist destination,I live about 20 minutes south of there right on the ocean. Actually about a mile inland from the ocean but in the morning when all is quiet outside I can hear it.

Sodapop,
You must have me confused with someone else. You lost me about two or three posts ago!!!

I'm not David Liddle if that's who you're thinking of.

Dennisport, MA(Zone 5a)

Sodapop is not confused... i was sending a message to ALOHA!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

I'm not David Liddle either... Who IS David Liddle????LOL and why isn't he HERE!!.

Great SodaPop...will do.

Cats...I don't know that area myself...but my Aunt and her family love it!!! You live in a great part of the world.....

See ya, George!

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

OOPS!! My mistake.

So sodapop I take it that your name is also David. It takes me a while to catch on.

Carol, you're not David Liddle either? Well now i'm confused. No seriously I did speak with Mr. Liddle on the phone yesterday/last night however you want to look at it. It was around noon his time.

Very nice person and willing to answer any and all questions that I had. I have wanted to go to Australia for some time now and if I ever make it my first stop will be to his greenhouse! Maybe i'll make it a point to go there for my 40th B-day that leaves me 2 years to plan it.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

By all means...DO IT. I spent a lovely time at the Liddles... David and his wife Iris Marie are delightful and David does his best to make you feel Austrailia is the best place in the world to live. I can't argue with that. N.Queensland is a unique part of Oz...the 'gators are huge, the snakes are awesome, the birds to die for, the spirit one of "pioneers/independents" and the tea and beer are terrific!!! The people make the country...and they are wonderful! I am hoping to go back in September...

- smile -

Aloha
