A Little Dry Humor........
LOL!!
Love it! I'm such a fan of Gary Larson it's almost sad. I adore his sense of humor. I have all of his The Far SideŽ books. I need to pull one out. Nothing like a little mindless humor and a good glass of wine.

very cute
So that's what they mean when they say, "use nasty words and threaten them with the pruners". Cute.
I loved his humour. I worked in a small office, and all but one loved his humour, the last person didn't get the jokes, and she thought she was 'better' than the rest of us. Frequently she would come into work and find a Far Side comic on her desk, that she didn't understand the joke, which made the rest of howl. It sounds a bit cruel reading this, but it really was fun for all involved.
When I first moved to Seattle in 1974, I bought a house in an old neighbourhood, My 5 yearold was the only kid and the average ages of the neighbours was about 75. Gary Larson rented a little apartment in one of the big houses. At least once a week we would have the EMTs and Firetrucks come to a roaring stop in the middle of the blocks as they rescued one of the elderly drunks or druggies... It was really quite funny!!! We would all stand there watching the show, Gary among us and he would never say anything....just stand there with his chin in his hands ... watching. I guess he lived there for about 4 years until he moved to a little quiet neighbourhood.
30 years later all the old houses are beautified, fixed up with young couples as the drunks died off and it is really quite upscale. I can't say I "knew" Gary Larson...he just was always "there"... there were some articles in the local papers about him when he started out...said he got his material from just observing people. He was great!
What happened...? We were out of the country for 6 years and got little news. Did he retire or pass away or ?
Gary retired. I think he lives in Seattle now, don't quote that. There are probably 50 cartoons written about the old folks in your neighborhood! I didn't know he was in those play mags. Never heard that. What, were they just cartoons or "columns?" I thought this was a funny one!
