Devil's Trumpet, Horn of Plenty, Downy Thorn Apple 'Black Currant Swirl' (Datura

Baton Rouge, LA(Zone 9b)

I bought one of these 2 months ago and its about half the size of yours. It already has three blooms about to open. I was wondering if I should put in the ground or leave it in a pot (which do they prefer)?
Thanks

How big did your Datura get? Mine in California are over 7 feet now in August. Visit my web for pictures at http://www.rader.org/garden/20aug06/20aug2006datura.htm

Never more than 5 feet tall.
Congratulations, gorgeous daturas and spectacular blooms.

I bought a plant like this this summer but didn't know that they call the color black - I thought it looked dark purple. It is so beautiful. It grew to about 3 feet tall and I had over 20 blooms on it this summer and fall. It is so beautiful. I noticed the seed pods on there, this is all new to me. Is it too late to plant these seeds? How many seeds per hole do I plant?
I'm willing to trade seeds for other colors too.

You may try posting under one of the other images, the blue forget-me-nots pictured under giancarlo's name means he is no longer with us.
There are several comments in the notes section of this PantFile that mention starting from seeds that may be of help.
