DSL or ADSL

Which do I want LOL, I think I need ADSL more, it's faster at downloading, web browsing and such right? DSL is faster at what uploading? or downloading? I just want faster web browsing that's it, faster downloading for music and such.

Is it expensive, do the ADSL providers provide the modem that you have to have? do they have to come out to the house? or is this something that can be done through the internet or phone thing? I'm new to this, just full of questions, Have to know all thefacts so I can explain them to my husband and convince him we need this.
